Primorbis Timelines
Primorbis Is In progress
Since starting this project a year ago, Primorbis is still under construction. I have many creature and character art to design and more play testing to get a working prototype. My goal is to have a workable prototype of the game ready by the end of 2019. This prototype will be used for development of the first version of the game which will likely include the first and second regions of the world.
While working on the narratives, I plan on making a PvP (Player vs Player) version of the game with characters that will provide unique traits, abilities and special items only available in the PvP version. The funding of this first PvP will help with the next phases of the RPG game. I hope to have the PvP ready for Kickstarter in 2020 where I’ll learn the ropes and work out kinks of my first project.
If successful, hopefully when successful, I’ll move on to getting ready for the first Kickstarter for the full MMTRPG game launch. My hope is to have the full game ready for release in 2021. If things are not ready or need more work, then I’ll either make a second attempt at new characters and play style for another attempt at a PvP version or reassess for alternative approaches.
My main limiting factor right now is funding. I am fully funding this game with my own financials. My current job and savings should be more than enough to support the game creation with a long enough timeline. But if I can achieve success with the PvP, then I plan to use all profits from those funds and re-invest them to expedite the RPG version of Primorbis.
Longer term, each region will be developed as an expansion to the previous. While I am working on story lines that span all the regions and many details of those regions are already being documented in an iterative fashion. Focus will remain on the first region and its neighboring regions. Following the initial release, I hope to release at least one new region at a time as an expansion every year following the initial release, and build and ship each expansion prior to the sale goes live. If I can develop more than one expansion each year, which I will try to do, then wonderful. Otherwise, it will be a 20+ year project to finish all 20 regions.
With each expansion, if any prior releases need fixed content, I aim to deliver those corrections as part of the expansions. The goal here is to deliver, learn, and continue to deliver until Primorbis is perfected.
